Welcome to the 25th Street Station Website

I'm very excited to be part of the 25th Street Station redevelopment of the A.D. Anderson auto site. This mixed-use development, which will include both retail and residential, is specifically scaled and designed to serve the City of Baltimore communities where it is located.

Green and sustainable design concepts, including one of the largest regulatory green roofs in the region, combined with excellent construction and responsible operation will create an environmentally sound and sensitive project in accordance with Baltimore City's sustainability standards.

In addition, this privately financed development will act as a catalyst for ongoing investment in the area surrounding the site and will continue the rejuvenation of the surrounding communities while bolstering the City's efforts to attract and retain employers and jobs. We are working closely with the Mayors Office of Economic Development to insure that the majority of the 750 new retail jobs and 400 construction jobs openings will be filled by community residents.

Finally, there are many wonderful retailers in the City, but the suburbs provide a greater variety of stores and merchandise, and unfortunately City residents leave their cities to shop. In Baltimore we are associated with a study that indicated that 39% of Baltimore City residents leave their neighborhoods to shop in suburban stores such as Lowe's and Walmart.

Think of it! What if that 39% could shop at a Lowe's or Walmart without leaving their neighborhood?  And, what if, while shopping in their own neighborhoods, they also shopped the unique and distinctive local retailers in their communities?

And what if all those retailing jobs and taxes generated by those residents going to the suburbs were, in fact, retailing jobs and taxes for the City?

This is our mission. This is our passion - Our goal is simple - To bring all of these positive impacts that can be generated by quality retail development to the City of Baltimore.

Economic Impact Study

WV Urban Developments LLC, retained Richard Clinch, PhD, Director of Economic Research at the Jacob France Institute of the Merrick School of Business at the University of Baltimore (JFI) to analyze the economic and workforce development implications of the 25th Street Station project.

The construction of the 25th Street Station project will generate $110.8 million in economic activity in the City, create 635 jobs earning $36.2 million in employee compensation, and generate an estimated $2.3 million in State and local tax revenues.

When the 25th Street Station project is complete and fully occupied, the new businesses and residents locating in the development will generate an estimated $62.0 million in City economic activity and support 733 jobs inside of the development area.

Project Update

Thank you for your continued interest in 25th Street Station. As of October 2011, the project remains on track, though our schedule has changed due to appeals of the Planned Unit Development (zoning) ordinance that was passed by the Baltimore City Council. The appeals have been dismissed by the Circuit Court but further appeals have been taken and are scheduled to be heard in January 2012.

While we continue to work on construction plans, financing, and tenant mix, we cannot purchase the property or start construction while the appeals continue. We look forward to a decisive resolution of the appeals so we can bring shopping, investment, and jobs to the neighborhood and City as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience.
